**JULY 14, 2010 UPDATE: Mariners service resumed**

The most recent court action will allow the Seattle Mariners and Metro to continue offering special transportation services for baseball games through the end of the 2010 season.

**JUNE 16, 2010 UPDATE: Mariners special services will be discontinued.**
Due to a court ruling, Metro can no longer offer special shuttle service to the Mariners games after the month of June.

**APRIL 28, 2010 UPDATE: Sounders service suspended**
Due to lower than expected ridership, Seattle Sounders FC and Metro have announced  that beginning May 1 special shuttle service to Sounders games will no longer be provided.  However, extra coaches will be added to accommodate Sounders fans on regular Metro routes serving Qwest Field during periods of heavy ridership.

Metro Transit ‘back in the game’ with special service to Sounders and Mariners games

King County Metro Transit will provide special service to many of the Sounders and Mariners home games this season – teaming up with fans to cut down on congestion around the stadiums.

Metro will operate shuttles between three park-and-ride lots and Qwest Field for the Sounders, and from four locations for Mariners games at Safeco Field. The special service shuttle fare will be $5 cash each way. Passes, ORCA cards, tickets and transfers are not accepted on Metro special service buses.

The special shuttles offer connections between the stadiums and outlying locations in north and east King County. For fans in South King County, Sound Transit will offer special train service for weekend day games for both the Sounders and Mariners, along with regular light rail service. There is also regular Metro and Sound Transit bus service to the stadiums during the week and on weekends.

Special service will be offered by Metro for:

Seattle Sounders FC

Service to Sounders matches begins Saturday, April 3. It will only be offered for weekend games.

Metro’s shuttles to the Sounders games are from the following park-and-ride lots: Northgate; South Kirkland; and Eastgate. There is no service for weeknight games.

Seattle Mariners

Metro offers Mariners shuttles to and from weekend games, and post-game only for weeknight games. There is no service for day games during the week, since there is plenty of regular weekday bus service near the stadiums.

Metro’s Mariner service begins on Tuesday, April 13 at the end of the 7 p.m. game against Oakland. The shuttles will operate from the following locations: Northgate Transit Center; South Kirkland Park-and-Ride; and a combined route serving the Eastgate and South Bellevue park-and-rides.
