Public Health activates the Health & Medical Area Command to direct, coordinate and mobilize health and medical resources, information and personnel during emergencies and disasters.

Public Health – Seattle & King County is the primary agency responsible for Emergency Support Function 8 Health, Medical and Mortuary services in event of a disaster in King County.
